VS Sassoon Curl Secret

My sisters and I recently tried out the Curl Secret with varying results based on our individual hair types.
My thinner hair took less time, but for thick hair, this method takes FOREVER! I would not recommend, unless you're super patient and have a lot of spare time (eg. at least 30mins+).

The curl settings are changeable in size, but I personally found the loosest curl setting was still pretty "curly Sue". The curls do drop of course, but to get curls happening, you have to use thin sections in the first place.
So it's not going to be flowing and loose - they come out mostly tight and thinly spaced out (I kept calling them Worms). It is for this reason that it takes quite a while to finish curling a whole head of hair!

The tool itself is pretty intimidating looking (and sounds like an angry robot!), but once you get the hang of it, it's not so bad.
We found it a lot easier to have someone helping though, as doing it by yourself proved to be a mission and a half (if you place the hair the wrong way, it could get stuck and over-burn etc. It's really hard to see what you're doing with a gigantic chamber on the end of the tool, even with a mirror. Uncool!)

Overall, I would stick to a normal curling wand. The Curl Secret does speed up curling time & achieve a more "perfect" looking curl, but you could be spending half an hour doing this.
I personally don't think it's worth it, and I prefer looser, wavier curls to the ringlet-esque finish this achieves.
Though they do drop, I found the curls weren't to my liking, even on the loosest setting and the time factor just killed it for me.

Whats your favourite curling tool? GHD have come out with some new curl-specific wands that I am keen to try!
